This year we are expanding our traditional Ozark Avalon family reunion
to a major regional festival with special guest presenters and well
known Pagan music. Ozark Avalon is a Church of nature and land sanctuary
in Mid-Missouri. We have over 160 acres of upland woods and meadows on
the bluffs of the Missouri River. Numerous trails connect sacred sites.
There are many camping areas and limited indoor space for those with
special needs. We also have a lake with canoeing, a pool, and a hot tub.
Our community is diverse and intergenerational. We welcome all persons
of good intent. We welcome vendors with no additional vending fees and
will have a vendors row near the Frog Bog art gallery and shower house.
We'll hold many rituals and celebrate the nights with concerts and fire.
Basic, hearty food will be provided but we always welcome potluck side
dishes or donations of foodstuffs to the OA kitchen . We also ask each
person over 12 to donate at least 4 hours of community service time to
the celebration.
The fee for OakSpirits and advance registration is $50.
You will need to pay $60 at the gate. Children under 18 accompanied by
parents or guardians are free. See the website at www.ozarkavalon. net
or call 573-289-3657 or e-mail rosewise@starband. net to register by pay
pal or credit card.
We are also open to additional workshops and
presenters at this time and venders sending a description will be
included in the program. RV's and campers welcome call ahead for
logistics. Pets with prior permission only.

I have attended Circle with my daughter many times. 9 times out of 10, she's asleep before we bless the cakes and ale. Sometimes I've felt like joining her. I'm sure we can all remember a particularly LONG ritual we endured because you don't break circle. Imagine my surprise when she didn't know the first thing about ritual. I thought that with all the circles we had attended together, she would have picked up the basics. I thought about it. Yes she had been to ritual with me, but nothing was explained. The Quarters and God/dess were called and circles cast, but the reasoning behind the actions was something beginners get out of books. Pagan parents and educators learn what is involved in creating a meaningful and fun ritual for children ages 5-10 years old. (This workshop is for adults with previous ritual experience.)

Meet with Pet and other Year and A Day Class members in Moon Meadow with plant materials, twine, and tools to construct our community scapegoat - participants will have a chance to add those things that they wish to burn from their lives in this evening's cleansing ritual. vegetation symbolizing the left over chaff from the Harvest. Please add what you wish to dispose of from your life, a physical bit or piece or simply a scrape of paper with your wish written on it.
